Jay Kulkarni plays drums

Morgan Schmitz does the rest.

East Montgomery is a musical collective that sounds like a cross between Parliament/Funkadelic, Vulfpeck, Mac Demarco, and the Grateful dead. We’ve played all over the U.S. and every iteration of the band is different. We’ve had several shows where people who have never played a note together before play some incredible stuff you have to see to believe.

We started in 2011 when we were in middle school. Jay had a drum set I had a guitar and we both really liked Metallica. We’d hang out on weekends and play as much as we could. We were also band geeks where I played bass clarinet and he played percussion. Jay excelled in high school band so much he won the Louis Armstrong award in jazz performance.

East Montgomery is essential to who we are. It’s taken the better part of a decade to capture lightning in a bottle. We are not a cover band, there are so many great artists who do that much better than we ever will. What we do is bring good vibes and good times anywhere we’re needed with the art that we’re qualified to make. It’s top tier shit guys, don’t sell us short we know what we’re doing here.
